THE ICE PLANER EASILY PLANES AWAY ALL IRREGULARITIES

The Icemaster efficiently planes away irregularities, such as ice clumps, frozen slush and cracks. The ice planer is easily towed by ATV 4x4 or 6x6 for early season starts. Of course, it can also be towed with a four-wheel drive vehicle when the ice is carrying heavier vehicles.

During transportation, the planer is connected to the vehicle's drawbar with the ball glove. Once at the track, the snow scraper is lowered with the winch, the wheels then go up and connect the drawbars to the drawbeam for stable operation during planing.

TIPS FOR ICE SAFETY

Ice safety is not only for those who skate, but also for those who prepare the ice. Often those working on the ice are out first, early in the season and with heavy tools, which places high demands on safety. Here are some great tips from Winter Attitude to stay safe on the ice.

Have the right tools

This means ice spikes, studs, whistle, rescue line and buoyancy aids such as lifejackets, lifejackets or dry suits. Always carry a change of clothes in a waterproof bag and also put your cell phone in a waterproof case or bag in an easily accessible place.

Tell someone you are going out on the ice and where you are going

Decide how and when you will be consulted and what the person will do if you cannot reach each other. Note: if there is an accident, always call 112.

Get to know the ice and the area you're going to

Talk to someone at the local skating club or read and ask questions on internet forums. Keep an eye on the ice when you're out, looking for irregularities that could signal weak ice.

With safety in mind, Winter Attitude has developed a super light and efficient ice planer that can be towed behind a quad bike. This allows ice work to get underway safely, early in the season.

THE STORY BEHIND OUR ICE PLANER, ICEMASTER

Affe Björkman has experience of plowing skating tracks since 1975, first in Enköping and later in Dalarna at Orsa Mora Skating. Affe acted as a consultant during the development of the ice planer - he was also the first to test the planer live on the lakes around Mora.

With his long experience of different ice, conditions and situations that can arise in track laying, Affe's knowledge was invaluable in the development of the ice planer. The focus was on making the ice planer easy to pull and handle, even for a single person on a light vehicle. A goal that was achieved according to Affe: "Winter Attitude's ice planer is both lightweight and efficient" he says and continues "it can easily be handled by a single person and pulled behind a car or four-wheeler, which means that ice work can start early in the season."

Despite its light weight, the Winter Attitude ice planer prepares smooth and durable ice, regardless of weather conditions. The results, quality and lightness mean that Affe wouldn't use anything other than the Winter Attitude ice planer today, he says, summarizing his experiences: "The results are simply not as good with other tools, and the risk of breaking through the ice is too great with heavy machines. Ice safety matters - even for us who lay the tracks"
